When you leave an enchanting place, you carry it with you wherever you go

A holiday in the Seychelles is something every traveller dreams of taking at least once in their lifetime, and with the right company, it becomes even more unforgettable.

Our journey begins on the SeyVillas website, where my partner Silvia and I start dreaming about the wonderful experiences that the splendid Seychelles archipelago has in store for us.

Of the various options, we choose to go ‘island hopping’, travelling around the three main islands, namely Praslin, La Digue and Mahé.
We depart on 29 September with Qatar Airways. After a stopover in Doha, we continue to the island of Mahé.
Once we land at the airport, we take a taxi to the port and then the local ferry to Praslin, where our fantastic adventure begins.

We stay on Praslin for three days at Villa Bananier, where we receive a warm welcome and everything is spotlessly clean.
We are able to explore the most beautiful beaches on the island, including Anse Lazio Anse Lazio, PraslinAnse Lazio, Praslin with its blue sea, Anse Kerlan with its splendid bay, and Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or), where we set off by boat for the renowned Anse Georgette.

The local venues are full of character, colour and style. We enjoy the food at Pirogue Restaurant & Bar – highly recommended! – the cocktails at Café de Arts and the local food from the takeaways .
We also have the privilege of visiting Vallée de Mai, a lush haven of local flora where it feels as though you have travelled back in time to the prehistoric age.

After three memorable days, we set off for La Digue, once again using the impeccable ferry service.
Bicycle hire operators are waiting for us at the port. We meet one of the friendliest and most helpful, who cheerfully hires us our bicycles and accompanies us to Cocotier Du Rocher Self Catering Apartments, even promising to give us a lift back on our return!!!
When we arrive at the apartment, luxurious accommodation awaits us: a private cottage with a hammock and every amenity. A dream come true!
After a relaxing shower, we begin exploring the stunning beaches of La Digue, having fun as we experience the island’s winding lanes first-hand.
Along the way, we see Anse Severe, Anse Patates and Anse Banane

We stop at the latter and enjoy some delicious food at Chez Jules to recharge our batteries.
On the second day, we simply cannot miss one of the most beautiful beaches in the world: Anse Source d'Argent!

Located within L'Union Estate , it can be explored by bicycle, with the chance to see many enormous local tortoises along the way. As we immerse ourselves in the splendid waters, where the salt makes floating effortless, we are lucky enough to witness a beautifully arranged beach wedding.
There are no words to describe it – only immense beauty to be experienced!

Reluctantly, the following day we leave the wild and delightful island of La Digue for our final destination on Mahé, specifically Beau Vallon, where we stay at the Beau Bamboo guest house.
Using a hire car (remember to drive on the left!), we reach our final guest house… Once again, we are left speechless: enormous spaces, every amenity and a location close to Mahé’s most beautiful beach, Beau Vallon itself. What more could we ask for?
Fearless and adventurous as ever, we travel all over this island too, reaching Port Glaud and Anse à la Mouche. In these wonderful places, we once again experience the warmth of the local people, who are always ready to help with anything we need.
In the evening, we are also pleasantly surprised by the nightlife in Beau Vallon . Along the pedestrianised seafront, takeaway vendors and local music bring the evenings to life, filling the streets with tourists and locals alike.

On our final day, partly because of the gloomy weather, we decide to immerse ourselves in city life in the capital, Victoria (and to buy some souvenirs too ;-p)… Filled with colours and scents, the town combines the folkloric charm of the islands with a European standard of living. Daily life revolves around shops, markets and souvenir stalls, not to mention the beautiful local sculptures and the Hindu temple (Hindu Temple - Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar).

Our final day is rather difficult after so much joy and enchantment. Returning to our everyday routine is certainly not easy, but as I wrote in the title, ‘When you leave an enchanting place, you carry it with you wherever you go.’

Thank you, Seychelles. Thank you, SeyVillas.
