At last, the time has come: 5 nights on Praslin, 4 nights on La Digue and 4 nights on Mahé. Our island-hopping adventure in the Seychelles is about to begin, and we cannot wait. We are travelling in November, escaping cold Germany for the warmth of the Seychelles.
Praslin – Excursions:
After the long but smooth journey, we are welcomed with a cold drink at our first accommodation: the Berjaya Praslin Resort. It is somewhere you immediately feel at home. A real highlight awaits us straight away on Praslin: a boat trip to Curieuse with Surfari Seychelles. We are immediately blown away by the impressive giant tortoises that live on the island and ‘welcome’ us right on the beach. After spending some time with these magnificent animals, which are clearly very happy on their island, we continue with a hike across the small island and a barbecue. We then travel by boat to the waters off the picturesque island of St Pierre, where we explore the underwater world while snorkelling. At the end of this incredible day, we award it 5 out of 5 stars in our travel journal.

We also have a second guided excursion planned on Praslin: an island tour with the German-speaking guide Mario from Edelweiß-Tours, who takes us from Anse Georgette via scenic viewpoints and Fond Ferdinand to Anse Lazio. We can wholeheartedly recommend this excursion too. Besides all the incredible scenic highlights along the way, Mario impresses us with his extensive background knowledge and also takes some wonderful photographs of us during the trip.

Praslin – Road trips
We spend the remaining days exploring Praslin in our hire car. It is easy to reach the island’s various dream beaches by car. The stunning beaches of Anse Lazio and Anse Georgette are particularly memorable. The friendly people selling coconuts on the beach, for example, and the delicious food from the countless takeaway restaurants make our road trips complete.
La Digue – Bike rides
After some wonderful days on Praslin, we reluctantly say goodbye but are also full of excitement as we take the ferry to La Digue. Our accommodation here is the Patatran Village Hotel
, located directly beside Anse Patates. This small beach takes our breath away straight away. Fine sand, countless small and large granite rocks, crystal-clear water and enormous palm trees – all right outside our room. It is one of our highlights on La Digue. Over the next few days, we explore the small island by bicycle. Our trip to Grand Anse is particularly memorable. From there, we continue on foot to Petite Anse and finally to Anse Cocos. Three vast dream beaches, each more beautiful than the last. Anse Cocos impresses us most of all with its sheer size and natural beauty. We also eat frequently at takeaway restaurants on La Digue, but we have another little insider tip: on your way back from the beaches, pick up a genuinely good pizza from the restaurant at Le Repaire Boutique Hotel and enjoy it on the beach at sunset. These are hours we will never forget.

La Digue – Kayaking tour
We also take another guided excursion on La Digue. Against the backdrop of the world’s most photographed beach, Anse Source d'Argent, we head out onto the water in a transparent kayak. The Robinson Crusoe Tour, run by Crystal Water Kayaks, is thoroughly recommended. After our time in the kayak, we continue to Robinson Crusoe Beach, where we learn, among other things, how to open coconuts. We get some fantastic photographs on this tour as well, and it is another excursion we can wholeheartedly recommend.

Mahé – Our highlights
From the smallest island we visit, we travel to the largest: Mahé. Our accommodation, the Au Fond de Mer View, is a highlight in itself. We have a huge apartment with an
impressive view from both the bedroom and the balcony. Watching the sunrise from bed – priceless. After sunrise, we always set off in our hire car to explore Mahé. In general, Mahé is very different from Praslin and La Digue, and this time our highlights are not the beaches but other attractions. One of them is Sauzier Waterfall, which we visit first thing in the morning. We have the place entirely to ourselves, listen to the gentle sound of the water and swim in the refreshingly cool fresh water.

Another highlight on Mahé is the Sir Selwyn Selwyn Clarke Market in Victoria, which we visit on a Saturday morning. We watch the lively activity and buy spices and souvenirs. We also go hiking: the view at the end of the Copolia Lodge Trail is magnificent.

As footballers, we naturally have to visit a stadium, even in the Seychelles. We check www.seysoccer.com for the latest fixtures and attend a match at Stad Linite. Tickets are available at the venue, and the member of staff is delighted by our visit and gives us a warm welcome. Surrounded by local supporters, we enjoy the match and experience a completely different football culture. A genuine insider tip.

Mahé – Beaches
Of course, Mahé also has several dream beaches, which we visit in our hire car. Particularly memorable are the large bay at Port Launay North Beach, the picturesque Petite Anse at the Four Seasons hotel, the vast Anse Intendance and, of course, the lively Beau Vallon. Just outside our hotel is the small but absolutely gorgeous Fairyland Beach (Relax Beach).

Conclusion
Our dream holiday comes to an end with the return journey, which also goes completely smoothly. We can wholeheartedly recommend island hopping in the Seychelles and wish all travellers a wonderful time in what must surely be one of the most beautiful places on Earth.
