Island Hopping in the Inner Islands
After a great deal of research and some indecision, we chose a holiday in the Seychelles, partly because of the appealing offer from SeyVillas. To say it straight away: we did not regret it for a single moment!
Praslin
We began our journey on Praslin. Getting there was straightforward, although the approximately 1-hour ferry crossing clearly took quite a toll on some of our fellow passengers. Fortunately, we had no trouble with the swell and were able to enjoy the sea air and pleasant climate to the full.
On Praslin, we stayed at the Hide Away Appartments, which is located directly on Anse Possession and offers everything you need for a self-catering holiday.
The island is easy and, above all, inexpensive to explore by bus, and we did not miss having a hire car during our stay. After spending our first day exploring the local area, including the beautiful, long beach of Anse Volbert, we headed to the famous Anse Lazio on our second day. It is an easy walk of around 15 minutes from the final bus stop on the route. We were able to relax completely here and spotted numerous stingrays and even 2 small sharks in the crystal-clear water.
We spent our third day exploring the lush flora of the Vallée de Mai. On the fourth day, we toured the entire island by bus, treating it as a sightseeing circuit with several stops, before relaxing once more on Côte d’Or Beach.

La Digue
The following day, we continued to La Digue. We were collected promptly at 9 am and, after a short ferry crossing, were able to check straight into our next accommodation, Elje Villa. We also felt very comfortable here, thanks to the lovingly furnished room, beautiful surroundings and fully equipped communal kitchen.
Once we had hired the customary bicycles, we set off to explore the island and made it all the way to its northern tip. There, after enjoying a freshly squeezed fruit juice, we took in the idyllic beach and the sunset. Our plans on La Digue also included visiting the coconut plantation and the famous Anse Source d’ Argent, as well as taking a trip to the island’s east coast.

Mahé
After 3 wonderful days on La Digue, we returned to Mahé, where we spent the final 5 days of our holiday at La Résidence, a beautiful hillside property approximately 25 metres above sea level.
As Mahé is considerably larger than the other 2 islands, we hired a car there so that we could see as much as possible. We particularly enjoyed driving through the island’s mountains, where, as well as the Tea Factory, you can discover numerous beautiful viewpoints, such as the one at Mission Lodge.
We also loved Anse Royale in the south-east of the island and the expansive Beau Vallon, where we watched fishermen hauling in their net. We also visited the capital and its impressive botanical garden, and snorkelled among the coral and hundreds of small fish off Port Launay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in the Seychelles and were understandably sad when it was finally time to return to the airport. The lush natural scenery, magnificent beaches with their turquoise, crystal-clear water and the friendly people will always remain in our memories. We also felt that the way we divided our time between the 3 islands was perfect, and we were more than satisfied with both the accommodation and the transfers.
We would happily return!
