10 Days of Dream Holiday
We, Ute, Frank, Piet and Louis, spent our autumn holiday in the Seychelles. As we had already visited in 2014, this was our second stay.
As our plane began its descent, we immediately felt that Seychelles feeling – glorious weather with plenty of sunshine, turquoise waters and dazzling white beaches.
4 days on Mahé
We collected our hire car and drove to our first accommodation for the next four days – the Chepsted Chalets. Built into the hillside, the chalets offered wonderful views of the sea and beautiful sunsets in the evening.
As we had landed at midday, we still had time to do something, so we drove to Anse l'Ilot.

This is a small but very beautiful beach that is hidden from view and therefore usually peaceful. After cooling off in the sea and admiring the colourful marine life while snorkelling, we drove to Beau Vallon in the evening to watch the sunset.

The next morning, we set off on a tour of the island, visiting various bays and beaches along the way.
First, we headed south to Anse Bougainville. There is a lovely beach there with an adjoining beach bistro.

We then continued to Anse à la Mouche on the other side of the island. There were high waves there, which were great for surfing.

At the third bay, Anse Louis, we enjoyed another picture-perfect beach and a wonderfully refreshing swim in the sea.
In the evening, we visited the market at Beau Vallon, where we tried freshly made banana chips and listened to local music.
On the third morning, we drove to Bel Ombre. The coastal walk to Anse Major starts there and takes around 45 minutes. At the end, you are rewarded with an idyllic bay whose beauty is hard to surpass.

While snorkelling, we spotted a ray camouflaged against the sandy seabed.

On our final day on Mahé, we visited the market in Victoria, where fresh fish and fruit were available to buy.
6 days on Praslin
We then took the high-speed ferry to Praslin, a journey of just over an hour. From the harbour, we took a taxi to our second accommodation, the Mango Lodge.
The elevated apartment offers a wonderful view of the sea and St Pierre Island.
The next day was a classic beach day at Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or).

Through the apartment, we were able to hire sun loungers on the beach and borrow kayaks free of charge from a boat-hire company.
On our second day on Praslin, we had an adventurous bus journey to Anse Lazio.

We spent a lovely day on the beach and plenty of time in the sea. While snorkelling, we discovered a colourful underwater world.

The next morning, we first took the bus and then the ferry for a day trip to La Digue. After a 20-minute crossing on the high-speed ferry, we arrived on La Digue, where we hired bicycles to explore the island. We first cycled to Grand Anse, where the high waves were great for surfing.

After a while, we continued north to have a picnic at Anse Severe. At the roadside, we saw a giant tortoise that was delighted with the pieces of apple we gave it.

In the afternoon, we visited the famous Anse Source d'Argent. The picture-perfect bay was bathed in afternoon sunshine, making it a wonderful backdrop for a family photo.

In the evening, we took the ferry back to Praslin, bringing our day on the stunningly beautiful island of La Digue to an end.
We spent our fourth day once again at Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or). The weather was beautiful again, and the sea offered a wonderfully refreshing escape from the heat.
Frank and Louis hired a jet ski for 20 minutes and sped across the Indian Ocean at up to 75 km/h.

On our fifth day on Praslin, we hired another car so that we could explore the island at our own pace. We began our short tour of the island with a visit to Anse Georgette in the north. After we were given permission to enter the hotel grounds, a road led us past the large, beautifully situated golf course to the bay. There, we found a gorgeous white sandy beach. The wind had created high waves out at sea, which were great for surfing.

Later in the afternoon, we returned to Anse Lazio to experience its colourful marine life while snorkelling. The bright sunshine made it easy to see the fish.
In the evening, we enjoyed the sunset from the Zimbabwe viewpoint, which offers a wonderful view across the island.

On the final day of our holiday, we drove to Fond Ferdinand National Park in the morning. It had been recommended on the SeyVillas website because it is less expensive than Vallée de Mai National Park and a guided tour is always included. This still relatively little-known national park is home to many of the famous Coco de Mer palms, one of the Seychelles’ most iconic symbols. During a fascinating and highly enjoyable guided tour, we were able to see the plant life up close.

We spent the final hours before our flight relaxing once more on sun loungers at Anse Volbert (Cote d'Or), soaking up our last impressions of paradise. In the evening, we flew back to Germany, bringing a wonderful trip to an end.
ConclusionOur holiday in the Seychelles was wonderful. We were able to enjoy the sunshine once more and relax on the beach. Booking our hire car through SeyVillas went without a hitch, allowing us to focus entirely on our holiday. The tips on the website led us to some lesser-known beaches that were slightly more hidden away but almost impossible to surpass in beauty. We would therefore like to thank SeyVillas for the excellent support with our trip!
