Honeymoon in the Seychelles

We spent our honeymoon in the Seychelles in September.

Praslin

After our Emirates flight, we travelled straight to the jetty and took the Cat Coco to Praslin. Due to the rough seas, we recommend booking the upper deck.

Our accommodation on Praslin was the Castello Beach Hotel. The hotel is right by the sea, with the beach accessible via a few steps. At this time of year, the waves were high, so swimming was not always possible.
The Castello Beach Hotel is in a good location. There are 2 supermarkets directly opposite the hotel, as well as a bus stop with regular services.

What we did on Praslin:
→ Took the bus around the island and went swimming at Anse Lazio. It is around a 20-minute walk from the final bus stop to the beach

→ Hired a car to visit the Vallée de Mai and explore the island

→ Anse Georgette (Note: We had read online that this beautiful beach is located within a golf resort and that a reservation is required. Our Castello Beach Hotel arranged this for us. We could walk there from our hotel)

After 4 nights at the Castello Beach Hotel, we continued by ferry, with a thankfully very calm crossing, to

La Digue

Our accommodation for the next 4 nights on La Digue was the Etoile Labrine guesthouse. It is located a little “out of the way”, but everything on the island can be reached quickly by bicycle. In the evenings, you can dine at the guesthouse and have a meal prepared to your liking, or cycle to one of the island’s restaurants or takeaways. Our tip: Gala Takeaway

What we did on La Digue:
→ Cycled around the island and stopped for a swim at one of its many beautiful beaches. Anse Severe is particularly good for snorkelling.
→ L'Union Estate & Anse Source d'Argent

Anse Source d'ArgentAnse Source d'Argent

→ Grand Anse, Petite Anse, Anse Cocos

<beach>18|Petite Anse</beach>18|Petite Anse

→ Snorkelling excursion. We booked a snorkelling excursion through the guesthouse. We travelled aboard the Labrine Charter with a friendly 3-person crew and another couple, visiting the islands of Félicité, Les Soers and Coco Island. The snorkelling stops were wonderful, with plenty of time to snorkel and enjoy the surroundings. A particular highlight was the barbecue prepared for us on board by the crew.

We then took the ferry back to

Mahé

We stayed here for 7 nights at the The H Resort Beau Vallon Beach. It is a fantastic, beautifully maintained resort with a lovely pool, and for us it was the perfect end to our honeymoon. After spending so much time out and about on Praslin and La Digue, we spent most of our final days at the resort. We had booked half board. Dinner was served as a buffet in the main restaurant. There was a different theme every evening, so the food did not repeat throughout our stay. There were 2 live cooking stations where you could choose exactly what you wanted, such as pizza, pasta, grilled dishes and wok dishes. The breakfast buffet also left nothing to be desired.

What we did on Mahé:
→ Took the bus to Victoria (the bus stop is directly outside the hotel)
→ Hired a car to explore the island

As we booked through SeyVillas, the honeymoon special was included. This meant that we received a candlelit dinner on both Praslin and Mahé, as well as a bottle of sparkling wine accompanied by a fruit platter or cake.
