Our honeymoon began on Mahé, where we were met at the airport by the driver we had booked in advance through SeyVillas. Our accommodation, Marie-Laure Suites, had excellent rooms and a generous breakfast, and the owner was also very friendly.
We spent our first day on Mahé at the beautiful Beau Vallon beach and enjoyed a lovely meal at a beachfront restaurant in the evening.

The next day, we hiked to Anse Major. The trail takes you through the countryside to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Seychelles, where we had some delicious tuna. We returned by boat, with Mr Happiness getting us safely back again.

Other memorable experiences included the Copolia Lodge Trail and Sunset Beach.
The next day, we travelled to the beautiful island of La Digue. We stayed at Buisson Guest House, where our host, Charles, was very friendly and provided us with bicycles straight away. The accommodation is surrounded by a beautiful garden. On our first day, we visited Anse Severe and spotted our first tortoise in the Seychelles. We then discovered several more beautiful beaches on a short bicycle ride. From a restaurant right by the sea, we were able to enjoy the sunset. The next day, we visited Anse Source d'Argent, a beach with very impressive rocks and gorgeous water.

Later in our holiday, we also took a crystal kayak tour from this beach, which included a visit to the beach where Robinson Crusoe was filmed.
Another highlight on La Digue was a hike to Anse Marron. We recommend booking a guide, as the route takes you through rocks, rainforest and water. It was a fantastic adventure. On a snorkelling tour, we discovered the underwater world around Coco, Sister and Félicité Islands, which was very impressive. On our final evening on La Digue, we enjoyed an excellent meal at Belle Vue and made the most of the romantic view as the sun set.

Our journey then took us to the island of Praslin, where we stayed in a lovely self-catering property, Blue Sky Self Catering. The owner was very friendly and always helpful. The only thing we did not like so much was that the apartment became very hot, as there was air conditioning only in the bedroom. Our first visit was to Anse Lazio, a gorgeous beach for swimming with fantastic waves. In our opinion, it is the most beautiful beach on Praslin.

The next day, we visited Anse Georgette, a superb white-sand beach with even stronger waves than Anse Lazio. Here, too, we were able to admire another romantic sunset.

The following morning began with a two-hour jet-ski tour, where we could really pick up speed. It was a wonderful experience. Afterwards, we visited the Vallée de Mai, which was also very beautiful, although there are better highlights in the Seychelles.
Our best experience on Praslin was a boat trip to Cousin, St Pierre and the Curieuse Marine National Park. During the tour, we watched birds nesting, spotted a baby tortoise and saw a sea turtle underwater for the first time.
Nesting birds
To finish, we enjoyed Anse Lazio, our favourite beach on Praslin, once more.
Back on Mahé, we visited the Takamaka Rum Distillery – simply delicious and well worth seeing! We also paid a visit to Victoria, where we saw the Hindu temple, Victoria Market and the Seychelles National Botanical Gardens. We highly recommend them all.
The next day, we took a trip to the Mission Lodge Lookout and Sauzier Waterfall. Both were also wonderful highlights.
On our final day, we took a glass-bottom boat to St Anne Marine Park to go snorkelling and explore a sandbank. We even spotted a starfish during the trip.
Starfish
Overall, it was a dream holiday, superbly organised by SeyVillas. Our transfers were always waiting for us on time, our hire cars were delivered promptly, and our local contacts were excellent.
We would love to repeat this holiday.
We had the honeymoon of our dreams, just as we had hoped.
P.S. On our way home, we also visited Dubai, which we can highly recommend as well.
